As I am contemplating the year 2022, I realize how important being present is.
Being present in the here and now to notice our emotions, our thoughts, our fears, our desires, our longings, our challenges and our wins.
Being present to be there for ourselves when we need a break, a breath, a hug, a laugh, a smile or just to allow ourselves to be exactly how we are now.
Being present to accept our flaws, our learnings, our past, our present, our difficulties, to acknowledge our abilities and all the good we do in this world.
Being present to feel what needs to be felt, to hear what needs to be heard, to see what needs to be seen, within and around us.
Being present to the richness of nature, the sound of the wind in the trees, the songs of the birds, the water streaming down the rocks, the waves of the ocean crashing on the shore, the laughter of our loves ones, the smile of strangers, the help of others.
Being present to support one another without expectation, to encourage one another in reaching for our dreams, to move through the rough patches with compassion and love for ourselves.
Being present enough to say no when we don’t want to do something, to state our truth no matter what others think, to share our life story as it could help others.
Being present to love ourselves in good and bad days, to be grateful for all we have even if it feels like everything is falling apart, to be kindness to ourselves and others.
Being present to be one with the universe, one with humanity, one with all parts of us, with acceptance, love and grace.
Being present to others when they need us, letting them be responsible for their well-being and choices.
Being present to give ourselves what we need when we need it, to ask our loved ones when we need help, to be vulnerable sharing true moments of closeness, to express our feelings with love and compassion.
Being present to have fun as much as we can whenever our heart feels like enjoying the moment.
Being present to fully experience the greatness of this human experience on earth.
